Babyccino
Babyccino loved the lite-horse lamp, and we're very happy!!!
But what is Babyccino exactly? They describe it as "a fun site for urban mums: a daily dose of city life mixed with products and parenting tips! It’s like eavesdropping on a group of girlfriends having a conversation in a café… Only we’re inviting you to take part!
Four girls in 4 cities (London, Paris, Amsterdam and Milan) discuss life, kids, style and all their favourite must-haves..." (I believe these 4 girls are now 6!)
For us, babyccino is a daily newsletter, in which these women/mums share their point of vue. The newsletter arrives just on time for the morning coffee; it gives a little moment of pleasure to start another beautiful day!

le jouet design / the design toy
- Le jouet design s'intègre dans l'environnement contemporain. Ses formes sont pures voir graphiques, les éléments de décoration sont limités au strict minimum. Les parents ont plaisir à le voir dans la chambre des enfants ou au salon. Ses formes intuitives permettent d'autre part à l'enfant d'adapter son jouet à son imagination. Par exemple, le jouet à bascule peut-être cheval, lapin, moto, ou tout ce qui plaira à l'enfant ;
- Le jouet design est réfléchi : les matériaux utilisés sont respectueux de l'environnement, souvent recyclables; ils sont d'autre part qualitatifs, ne se brisent pas même avec un usage intensif ;
------------
- “Design” toys fit perfectly in any modern or contemporary house. While like any toy, the objects are great fun for children; at the same tome their shapes tend to be pure meaning that they don’t need to be put away in a cupboard at the end of the day. These are toys that parents won’t want their kids to put away – they’ll want to leave them on display in the bedroom or even in the living room! The simple shapes of design toys also means they can mean different things to different children – depending on their imagination. For example, a rocking object can either be a horse, a rabbit, a motorbike, or anything your child would like;
- Not only are designer toys innovative, beautiful and clever, they are also usually environmentally-friendly (made of sustainable materials - in most cases recyclable) and made to the highest quality specification. They are therefore very durable and do not break even after intensive use;
- Design toys are often made locally, in the region of the designer/brand who conceived it. For example, toys from Sirch are made in Germany, Momoll in Switzerland, Carton Chic in France, etc.
Paradoxically, modern design toys have many similarities with traditional wooden toys. Both are made from local, environmentally-friendly materials. Both appeal to children because of their simplicity and multi-functionality – leaving lots of room for the child’s imagination. Design toys though offer a new take on these traditional toys – contemporary designers have conceived new shapes, forms and uses so that the toys can fit harmoniously into any contemporary home.
To conclude, we would simply say that design toys are beautiful, fun, imaginative, clever and, not necessarily more expensive than those ugly plastic toys that we all tend to buy for our children. Best of all, parents like them just as much as their children!

partenariat ninetonine-treenation / partnership ninetonine-treenation
ninetonine, the furniture and design company for babies and children, is proud to announce it's new initiative: TREE FOR A COT. ninetonine will plant a tree for every cot they sell!
Looking after the environment is rightly at the forefront of everybody's minds nowadays, and particularly so, when it comes to their children. ninetonine are firm believers in the conservation of our environment – the wood we use is from sustainable sources, and they use only non-toxic lacquers and paints.
And ninetonine wants to go even further. So they've partnered up with treenation.com, to create the TREE FOR A COT initiative: for every cot or changing table bought, ninetonine will plant a tree in the name of the child for whom it was bought. The parents will be able to monitor the tree's growth - as they will their own child's - directly via treenation.com, and it can become their child’s own special tree for life. So, from the very moment they step foot in it, our children will be helping to create a better world...

Sirch
We know the beautiful toys and Suiko bed from German brand Sirch. But what is Sirch exactly? Sirch is a company which exists for more than 30 years, and employs more than 50 people in a production site of about 10.000 sq. m., located at Germany's Alpine foothills. The production site was made by architectural firm Baumschlager + Elberle, and was featured in several internation publications. Looking at the pictures hereabove, we understand why....
We can not resist to show you the beautiful products made by Sirch, available at http://www.kidslovedesign.com/. Their design ethos stems from empathy with the elemental, with simplicity and with tradition. This approach governs the work of Wolfgang Sirch and Christoph Bitzer and is unmistakable in the designs they produce together. The great majority of new developments take place in the factory itself using the materials and processes to hand. All Sirch products are of the highest quality and maintain a high commitment to traditional craft techniques. Find out more about the little car Max and its trailer Lorette, rocking horses Olga and Rosa, doll's house Villa Sibis, doll's pram Troll and evolutive bed Suiko.
